Must-Have PWC Accessories For 2019

Mar. 19 2019 Miscellaneous By ___

Your personal watercraft (PWC) is a thrilling purchase that’s going to add significantly to your summer experiences on the water. You’ll probably start out riding your Yamaha or Sea-Doo just as it came from the factory while you acclimatize yourself to how it works and what features it offers you.

As you become a more experienced rider, though, you’ll likely begin to ponder what other accessories you may be able to add to your PWC to get the absolute most out of it that you can. Fortunately, plenty of options exist to allow you to further customize your craft to your liking. This list of must-have PWC accessories for 2019 by Riva Motorsports Miami is a great place to start!

Anchor

If you want to spend some time with your machine off out in the depths, then you’re going to need a way to lock yourself into place so you don’t drift with the tides or float into shallow water where your craft can get damaged by sand filling the intake. An anchor will do this job for you.

There are small anchors that will easily fit onto your PWC so it remains stationary while you sunbathe or swim. A fluke anchor is ideal for mud or sand, a sandbag will do in calm areas and a screw anchor is great for when you want to fix yourself firmly into place.

Waterproof Phone Storage

You’ll likely be using your phone a lot when you’re not actively operating your personal watercraft, whether it’s to play music via Bluetooth, post a photo, look up a map or as a means of contacting help in an emergency. So you’ll want to have a means of protecting it when it’s not in the waterproof charging bay or compartment.

You can get a waterproof phone case to keep your phone dry; if you get one that floats, so much the better, since it might slide into the water and you’ll want to be able to grab it quickly.

Dock Line

Whether you need to tie your PWC to the dock or you’re launching it without assistance, a dock line will be an invaluable piece of equipment to have on hand. Marine lines can be used, but a bungee line provides more elasticity which can be helpful on your Sea-Doo. A bungee dock line is made of polypropylene that’s been braided for strength without bulk.

You shouldn’t need more than 12’ of line with a loop at the end to attach it to your craft. Learn a few different hitch styles like the clove hitch or bowline to let you tie up your Sea-Doo easily!

Bumpers & Fenders

While you’re launching your Yamaha PWC or loading it onto your trailer, you might bang it against the dock or some other obstacle which can scuff it. These machines can be hard to move due to their size and shape, even if you’re really experienced. So protecting the hull with some clip-on bumpers and fenders can be an easy way to keep your personal watercraft from sustaining damage.

Ladder

Not every PWC will have a means of entering and exiting the water. If yours doesn’t and you want one, you can get a lightweight nylon ladder or attachable boarding step to make it easier to get into and out of the water easily.

Wetsuit

While you may be riding in warm weather, the temperature on the water can be several degrees cooler than on shore, and water temperatures are often much colder. A good way to insulate yourself against the chill is to wear a wetsuit. This has the dual purpose of protecting your skin from sun exposure, reducing how much sunscreen you’ll need to apply.
